A day in the life of an American Soldier. The personal passages of everything from family life to war.

CNN - Gotta love em!

American Soldier says,

So I was reading a headline on cnn.com this morning. Apparently they claim US Soldier’s burned the body’s of Taliban fighters. Hmm doesn’t war suck!? Wait, wasn’t it just about 4 years ago those ass-hats flew 2 planes into the WTC towers and killed a whole bunch of people?

Oh wait, we have to be compassionate towards terrorists now? Ummm, no! Terrorists don’t need to be treated like soldiers in an Army. They don’t fall under the Geneva Convention rules. So I wonder why CNN posts a news story. Well I can sum that up and answer my own question. It’s news and that’s what they are supposed to do.

It’s actually came from the AP. However, you won’t be finding this kind of crap on Fox news!!

There’s more “soldier” like who these “reporters” are and what the real timeline and the PsyOps operation really were.

Damn liberals! lol! I feel the same way man.
I just found your blog, are you at war right now?

  4. JoeTex Says:

So I guess if they had burned them and then hung the bodies from a bridge in the center of town afterwards it would have made it acceptable. Or are you suppose to behead them before or after burning? I never can get that etiquette quite straight.

One important issue to keep in mind is that such acttions are likely to affect the treatment of American soldiers when they are captured by other armies. The treatment we give other people is the treatment we are probably going to get. As the American people consider this story how will it affect their willingness to have their children enlist in the military? It appears it is already having a drastic effect on recruitment.

  6. Jenifer D. Says:

:???:It wouldn’t matter how well or how poorly we treat EPW’s or their remains, ladies and gents. They will still torture and kill our servicemembers because we do not share in their empty, violent cause.

What about the thousands of civilians in Iraq/ Afganistan who died in the name of the ‘War on Terror’ ?

Muslim militants who kill innocents and it’s terrorism. American soldiers bombing innocents they call it a mistake. That’s bollocks man.

  9. Beth* A. Says:

OUR soldiers don’t deliberately target civilians; indeed they go the extra mile (no hospitals, schools or mosques) to avoid civilians, and it cost U.S. soldiers, some of them, their very lives to do so, because the terrorists aren’t as choosy. But OUR guys/gals make the effort. The difference between a mistake and a deliberate action is self-evident. It IS terrorism if you aim on purpose for civilians; get a clue!!!

  12. American Soldier Says:

    Hey Frenchy,

I know exactly what you said. So I will say it in plain english and french.

    I don’t give a fuck! & J’en ai rien à foutre

  13. Christine B. Says:

Hey Richard. Shut the fuck up. I got news for ya my dear Richard… And like AS said: WE DON’T GIVE A FUCK!

My advice..Don’t watch CNN..it is like ‘Sleeping With The Enemy”.

I went to visit my parents tonight and picked up their local paper..it made me sick! I remembered why I cancelled deliverey of my paper back on 01 of Oct. 2004..it is like calling a extreme liberal old buddy and letting him/her blab for an hour without interruption.. Not Worth the Health Risks!! ie: ulcers. high blood pressure, insominia etc…

  18. seawitch Says:

Time is reporting that the soldiers cremated the bodies after local villagers refused to claim them and give them a burial. It was a health issue for those holding a strategic position on a hill.

  19. Jana Lane Says:

Caneholder: Do you think the way you treat other people has no effect on the way they treat you? In this instance, burning the bodies did offend Muslims but the greater concern is over the things that were said over the loudspeakers. The soldiers feelings are understandable but what they did changes the feelings of the Afghan people toward them. We went into Afghanistan looking for Osama benLaden and convince the Tqaliban government not to harbor him, not to make war on the people, most of whom wanted to get rid of the Taliban. When we send our soldiers into a country that has a very different culture from ours with little preparation we do them a horrible injustice. Conflicts like this become almost inevitable. By the way, if there were a military invasion of the United States neither American Soldier nor anyone else could get ahead of me to defend it. I would give my life to defend the United States.

  22. PJ Degross Says:

We now not only fight the terrorists…but we can add most of the left wing liberal American media who insists on making our soldiers the enemy….anyone in this WORLD knows that this type of media puts our soldiers in jeopardy….it throws them into instant harms way….is there something wrong with this picture…..a boycott of all media except for Fox News is in order.. God Bless our Soldiers

  23. Donna Says:

I think these people at CNN should check their facts out first before ridiculing our military like they do.

I think everyone that lives in this country and enjoys the freedoms our soldiers are fighting to protect should at least give the troops the benefit of the doubt. All they are interested in is money honey and downing our president. Yuck! Makes me sick!! :???:

    Fox News is best!!

  24. Wild Thing Says:

We’re fighting a war. Why would we care what Islamic scum think about desecration of DEAD Taliban, when they behead LIVE people? I guess the video of Muslims sawing the head off a live American civilian wasn’t worse? I have had about e-freakin’-nuff! Get the reporters off the front line. We don’t have to see every single thing that occurs in theatre. Enough. The enemy can burn and behead and dangle and dismember and there’s no outcry. Keep the press away and let our troops fight this war like they know how! It is a fact that the Taliban, when they ran Afghanistan, massacred Afghans and skinned their victims …. alive.

I remember when our soldiers were burned in a destroyed vehicle. Then dragged through the streets, dismembered, disemboweled and strung up on a bridge as trophes.
And in 2004,where they frenzied crowds dragged the burned, mutilated bodies of four American contractors through the streets of a town west of Baghdad on Wednesday and strung two of them up from a bridge after rebels ambushed their SUVs.
Well??? How soon people forget these horrors! And there was NO media outrage at this, but you can bet there will be about our soldiers buring dead bodies of Taliban.
And how many innocent people were burned to death on Sept.11,2001 because of Osama and the Taliban.
Our troops are busting their butts in Afghanistan, Iraq and all over the world. They deserve better then to have to answer for every breath they take, every shot that is fired and every bomb that goes off. We are winning this war, I believe that. Our Troops Rock!

  25. BIG DOG's WEBLOG Says:

They Have No Right To Whine

We have heard about the American soldiers who burned the bodies of two Taliban fighters. The man who filmed it has stated that the locals refused to bury the bodies and that they were bloated and stinking so they were burned for sanitation reasons. …

  27. Gypsy Says:

Well said Wild Thing, took the words right out of my mouth. So ummm Jane Lane, ever hear of PSYOP?

Oh yeah, I don’t watch CNN…aka Communist Network News.

  28. Rock Says:

I find it incredibly coincedental that this news report shows up only a few days after the great news in Iraq. Is this the liberal media again trying to screw America by saving bad news until good news is out. This story didn’t take place on the day it was reported. So why now and not a few weeks ago or a few from now?

  29. Trent Says:

Its Anger ppl, misplaced anger but that all it comes down to.

How would you feel if another country’s army occupied the US,even if it did take out a hated dictator.

These people have been though hell - with all the crap they had to endure under Sadam and then suddenly a army marching in your Capitals street.

Now what the US goverment is doing is noble in all its done although with the Taliban and Osama it is the US goverments duty to get controll what it created.

As with Sadam - fair enough he was a dictator and needed to be removed but after it was done the US should have offered the Iraq ppl the option of having the US army keep the peace of the UN rotation Army - would have eased some tension and shown the Iraq ppl that they were there just to help and would only stay as long as its offered - but they didnt have that choice did they and this is the fault of the other nations that only complained about the war - not once did the other nations offer the ppl of Iraq another choice.

I’m from South Africa and our counrty has strong ties with England(being controlled by them in the passed) and I would be pissed if they came marching through our streets and we havent even been taught to hate them since birth.

Hate/Anger begets Hate/Anger - Only right thing for the US army to do is - not sink to the level of the Terrorists/Rebels.

  30. Trent Says:

OMG - just saw my spelling there(sorry)

  31. American Soldier Says:

    Trent,

You have no idea about war or how it is there. Simply put, unless you have been immersed in that war you only have what has been put out in the MSM.

The US has made leaps and bounds of success over there. We have built schools, roads, bridges, septic systems, etc, etc where there wasn’t before. We have ‘assisted’ the government with implemented their constitution that they wrote. We have freed an oppressed people.

Don’t come here trying to preach on about a topic you know nothing about besides being influenced by the media. I have been to hell and back. I know what is there. I know there are people who don’t like us, hell there are people in the US that would want to kill me just because I wear the uniform. The point is this; we’ve made a difference there. This site is here to offer you a glimpse of what soldiers do there and here (US).

    I hope that helps.

  32. devildog6771 Says:

The major medias are becoming more and more like tabloids like the National Inquirer. Maybe if they had real unbiased substance they could be called journalists again! But they’re going to have to earn that name from me.

  33. truth Says:

first of all. neither iraqi civilians or american forces abide by the geneva conventions or even more importantly morality.

and for each and every one of you soldiers that think liberal americans hate you. get over yourselves.

they arent ignorant enough to believe that you are at fault. obviously you are all being told what do to by your higher ranking officers.

i do however disagree with your choice in joining the armed forces, which supports war as an option to solve conflict.

    war does not solve problems.
    it creates them.

how come we dont have enough aid to send to hurricane victims in the south?

how come we dont have an army to help our country when in need?

because they are fighting a trillion dollar war against the idea of terrorism.

    terrorism isnt in iraq.
terrorism is in the united states
    it is in ireland
    england
    spain.

American Soldier: no one is denying the fact that you might have made the quality of life in iraq better by building schools, etc… but killing them is kinda the opposite effect.

not that you have a choice though.

  34. Chad Says:

There’s a difference between killing the cancer(fascist jihadists), and killing hard working, law abiding civilians. Naturally there is collateral damage in war, but it is the same theory as kemotherapy. Sometimes some of the the good stuff gets cut out when you cut out the bad, but better that then to let the bad fester. I feel like I’m explaining this to a child.

Truth - you are incredibly deceived, as well as an incredible tool.

  35. Kat in GA Says:

    Good analogy, Chad.

  36. m1rock Says:

This is something that I really dont thin the public understands. Soldiers (like I was) are good at what we do. all wqe ever do is train. train till it becomes second nature. If collateral damage happens, or civilians become injured or killed its not becuase we shot up a buliding or bombed a house, “becuase we guessed there were enemy there” it is becuase sometimes, it is almost impossible to avoid. If milita was trying to pick off our troops from a concealed apartment, and unbknow to us was hold the family in that same building they are fireing hostage in there but out of site, what do you do? Send troops directly into a heavily defended meatgrinder, or fire a few hellfires into a building (with civilians being hidden inside that we were unaware of) The basic point is the isnt the Vietnam war filled with drafted troops that dont even want to be there. This is a profesional army, of volenteers and leaders who have fought on the ground levels in other wars with tactics and experice better then other soldiers of other countries. This confict in my beleif is being handled in the best way that is physically handled in the role of the troops. If you have served and been in the situations that me and alot of the people in this bored have feel free to disagree. but if what you know is from the news, tv, and just a basic self originated opinion… get off your soapbox. You simply do not have the fisrt hand experience to understand what you are talking about.

  37. m1rock Says:

ok my post was type filled I clairify…

    * and unbeknowen to us was holding a family hostage in that same building but are firing at us and forcing the family in the building to keep out of site, what do you do?

    * This conflict is my belife is being handled in the best way physically possible as far as the roll of the troops is conserned
